2. Data we collect

When you use Mapable, we collect and store: • Account information: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers (via Google sign-in). • Content you create: notes, journal entries, voice memos, uploaded files, and URLs you submit. This content is stored in our databases and used solely to provide the service to you. • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, and interaction patterns, collected via PostHog analytics to help us improve the product.

3. How we use your data

We use your data exclusively to: • Provide and operate the Mapable service (storing your knowledge, building your graph, answering your queries). • Improve the product based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns. • Communicate with you about your account or service changes. We do not sell your data. We do not use your content to train AI models.

4. Third-party services

To provide Mapable's features, your data may be processed by the following third-party services: • Google Cloud Platform (Firebase Authentication): handles sign-in and identity verification. Google receives your email and authentication tokens. • Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini): processes your content to extract metadata, generate tags, and answer your questions. Content is sent to Google's API but is not used by Google to train their models (per their API data usage terms). • ElevenLabs: processes voice memos for transcription. Audio data is sent to their API for speech-to-text conversion. • PostHog: collects anonymized usage analytics to help us understand how the product is used. Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

5. Data hosting and transfers

Your data is hosted on Google Cloud Platform in the United States (us-central1 region). For users in the European Union, this constitutes an international data transfer. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides adequate safeguards for the transfer of personal data from the EU to the US, as recognized by the European Commission.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to: • Access your personal data. • Rectify inaccurate data. • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten"). • Export your data in a portable format. • Object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@easytech-agency.net. We will respond within 30 days.
